16x9 Widescreen vs 4x3 regular TV Print

The issue is still confusing for many, but hopefully this will give you a little insight into the difference.

(coming soon)

MiniHD Print

While film and the pro HD systems are still delivering the quality we need for broadcast and film production, many projects can be created with acceptable results from the new breed of "prosumer" cameras and desktop editing.

The show "Great West Life HSA" was shot entirely on a SONY Z1-U.  The new P2 cameras from Panasonic allow for shooting at 23.98, a much more realistic frame rate that has been the standard for film since they discovered that rate is how our eyes work.

There's still drawbacks and limitations with these technologies, but the support is getting better and the images are looking great.

The commercial for KCUV was shot with a Sony 900 combined with insert shots done with a Panasonic HVX-200 at 60i.  A little tweeking was necessary with the camera when shooting and during post, but the scenes intercut nicely fooling even the seasoned pros.

The Hack Shop Strike Team Print

The Hack Shop?

Meeting the demand for ultra low budget and quick video production, a spinoff of AVPfilms was create to facilitate some ultra low budget virial (for the web) video production.

The division offers huge discounts to "members" who have a project that can be produced by pros during down time or train new editorial talent.

It's a unique business model.  Companies apply to be considered for the discounts and then projects are evaluated and if they are something we can do well, have something cool at the end, and keep some people working during down time, at huge discounts, then we do it.  You can find out more by visiting "The Great Video Hack Shop"
