Welcome to AVPfilms LLC! We are excited to announce that beginning in 2012, AVPfilms LLC will be available as your freelance editing resource for spots, first cut, RED projects and more. You won't have just an editor, but a partner that brings decades of production experience, countless productions as a producer / director and cinematographer to the table. Tony Pfau, senior editor, creative makes life easy for his customers. He works for his people, just like his editors did for him over the years. Wouldn't it be great to just dump off your footage and have your editor get your show together, the way you want and more? We'll that's what Tony provides.

Remote DIT

No, film isn't dead, but, the digital revolution is certainly moving forward at rocket speed. Along with the busload of geeks needed, the workflow is changing more and more. Eventually, we see the digital worflow moving to the cloud. Right now, many a DIT enjoys those 2 a.m. coffees while waiting for the days work to get backed up, transcoded, transferred, yadda ya. I don't know about you, but many in the digital zone have nightmares that little bar that says "only 100 hours to go" We'll hopefully not for long.

We are working with partners to design support services for the movie set of the future. Imagine, dailies coming off set, going to a colorist, and editor off-set and then showing up on an Ipad tablet.

Tony has been creating hours of tutorials for beginning film students to learn basics for production prep and cinematography. These are free and available on itunes. The topics range from using a cloud for prep, to taking advantage of many free resources to help film makers get better results. Search Pfau and Film to get to their podcast feed. Subscribe today! AVPfilms will be offering consulting services to business and offering web video training seminars.. As reported in The Economist's article, " Words Fail Them" ¹, companies are moving to video as the main form of communication, via their web, press releases and even embedded in documents. The written word is being replaced with video and visual communications. Great news if you're one of the few that either know, or have a staff that knows how to actually produce these!
